WAKO WORKS OF ART is pleased to present Condensation, a solo exhibition by the Belgian artist Luc Tuymans at Richter Raum, Karuizawa.  The exhibition brings together six new oil paintings conceived in close relation to the exhibition space and now on public view for the first time: Funnel, Apron, Mural skull, Mural kitten, Palestinian Wildflower, and Swan Lake.

Condensation is an exact title. Condensation is not the cause itself, but the visible trace of an unseen difference. What appears is delayed, partial, and dependent on conditions that remain elsewhere. The six paintings gathered here unfold in much the same way. Their images do not simply present themselves. They emerge, blur, settle on the surface, and threaten to dissolve again. What is at stake is not the image in its fixed state, but the unstable interval in which it comes into being.
